Product property:

Composed of single or multi-optical unit of single or multi-layer metallic wires, OPGW-Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire is a special kind of communication optical fiber cable used for power system with double functions of both ordinary grounding and communication cables. The major force bearing part of OPGW is made of metallic protection materials of high intensity (aluminum coated steel) while short-circuit current transmission part of OPGW is made of metallic protection materials of low intensity (aluminum alloy or pure aluminum thread) capable of good transmission performance. Our company is able to make optimal designs in accordance with the specific requirements of customers.

Application:

Construction of communication channels of OPGW shall parallel with that of 220-500KV power transmission lines. Original overhead ground lines can also be replaced during the course of old line reconstruction. Currently OPGW is widely used for lines of 110KV or above.

OPGW technical parameters are closely related to core quantity, skip distance, thermal capacity of short-circuit current, weather and requirements of sag arc, customized design required in specific projects.
